Short description
This small statuette came from the collection of the opera singer Gennaro Evangelista (called Evan) Gorga, which was given to the Italian state in 1948 and was intended for the most part for the Palazzo Venezia museum. It depicts the Holy Spirit as a dove and is a fragment of a larger work, which cannot be identified. The work is in poor condition, having lost the polychromy almost entirely as well as the bird’s beak and the tip of its wings.
