Short description
According to Planiscig, the elongated figure representing Hercules is late Mannerist and ought perhaps to be associated with the school of Niccolò Roccatagliata. In this particular bronze, the early 17th century Venetian artist reveals more of his own individual style, distinct from that of Roccatagliata's circle, especially in the treatment of Hercules' body, which has been powerfully designed.
