Short description
This statuette came from the Wurts collection (W601/2), as a pair to the work with the inventory number PV 7313/1. It depicts cupid, or a winged putto, nude and partially covered by a swirling drape, with the strap of the quiver visible on its chest. It is pointing with its left hand to the heart that it is holding up with its right, which would originally have had an arrow inserted through it, as the metal hook that is still visible indicates. The work, which is not documented and in modest condition, is carved in a rather coarse manner, and would have been designed for decorative or ornamental ends in 17th century Germany.
