Short description
The bronze depicts a running Cupid, wearing a ribbon slung around the shoulder and tied at the waist on its left side; it ought to be holding an object, now lost, in its left hand. Pollak judged it a work of good quality from the early 16th century, executed in the north of Italy, an opinion shared by Santangelo. The subject and the technique point towards a Flemish sculptor, perhaps working in Italy, in the first three decades of the 17th century.
